Apple explores generative AI to accelerate chip design, Microsoft and Amazon use AI to optimize human resources structure

according to Reuters, Apple is considering using artificial intelligence to accelerate the design of its custom core chips. Apple's senior vice president of hardware technology, Johny Srouji, said that a key lesson the company has learned is the need to use cutting-edge tools to design chips. "Electronic design automation (EDA) companies are crucial in supporting the complexity of our chip design. Generative AI technology has great potential to complete more design work in a shorter time, greatly increasing productivity." However, according to AppleInsider, Apple has been using AI to some extent in its designs for years, with the third-party EDA companies it relies on already using AI and machine learning in chip design.Meanwhile, software giant Microsoft plans to lay off thousands of employees, streamlining its workforce in the background of increased AI investment to keep up with competitors. Currently, Microsoft is integrating AI more into its products and services. This week, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy also stated that the introduction of generative AI and agent AI in the coming years will reduce its workforce.
