Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley stated in a post on X platform, "I do not believe that Bitcoin's competitor will ultimately be gold. They (Bitcoin and gold) are both apolitical stores of value. Gold has lower volatility, while Bitcoin has higher volatility. Investors seeking apolitical stores of value will like both. On the contrary, I believe that Bitcoin's competitors will ultimately be U.S. Treasury bonds and other government bonds (such as UK gilt-edged bonds): these are the ultimate political stores of value."
